Overview

This adventure combines two of East Java’s most spectacular destinations: Sempu Island, an uninhabited conservation area covered by tropical forest and home to the stunning Segoro Anakan Lagoon, and Mount Bromo, famous worldwide for its breathtaking sunrise over the volcanic landscape of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Guests will trek through protected jungle, swim in a hidden lagoon fed by the sea, and then climb to Penanjakan Viewpoint to witness the legendary Bromo sunrise. This program is physically demanding but richly rewarding, offering a blend of wild beaches, tropical forests, and volcanic mountains — the essence of East Java’s natural beauty.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & City Tour

  • Pick‑up at Airport or Railway Station: Guests are welcomed at Surabaya or Malang.
  • City Tour Surabaya or Malang–Batu: A warm‑up day to explore cultural and urban highlights. In Surabaya, visit historical monuments and taste local cuisine. In Malang–Batu, enjoy the cool plateau atmosphere, colonial architecture, and vibrant city life.
  • Evening – Rest & Preparation: Overnight stay in Malang or Surabaya, with time to rest before the adventure begins.

Day 2 – Sempu Island Exploration & Transfer to Bromo

  • Early Morning – Depart for Sendang Biru Beach: Drive to the southern coast of Malang (approx. 2 hours). Sendang Biru is the gateway to Sempu Island.
  • Boat Ride to Sempu Island: Cross the bay in a traditional fisherman’s boat, enjoying views of coral cliffs and the open sea.
  • Jungle Trek to Segoro Anakan Lagoon: Trek for about 1.5 hours through dense tropical forest. The path is rugged but rewarding, leading to Segoro Anakan Lagoon — a turquoise pool connected to the ocean by a coral cave.
  • Lagoon Activities: Swim in the calm waters, relax on the sandy edges, and admire the dramatic waves crashing against the cliffs of Java’s southern coast. This hidden paradise is the highlight of Sempu Island.
  • Afternoon – Return to Sendang Biru Beach: Trek back through the forest and cross by boat to the mainland.
  • Evening – Transfer to Bromo (Probolinggo): Long drive to the slopes of Mount Bromo. Check in at a hotel near the volcano and rest for the early morning trek.

Day 3 – Mount Bromo Sunrise & Exploration

  • 02:30 – Jeep Ride to Penanjakan Viewpoint: Depart by 4WD jeep to Penanjakan, the best spot to witness the famous Bromo sunrise. Watch the sky turn golden as the sun rises over Mount Semeru and Mount Batok, with Bromo’s crater smoking in the distance.
  • 05:30 – Explore Bromo Highlights:
    • Bromo Crater Trek: Walk across the Sea of Sand and climb to the crater rim for close views of the active volcano.
    • Savannah (Teletubbies Hill): A green valley surrounded by rolling hills, perfect for photos and relaxation.
    • Whispering Sands (Pasir Berbisik): A desert‑like expanse where the wind creates a soft whispering sound across the dunes.
  • 11:00 – Return to Hotel: Rest and enjoy lunch. Breakfast is excluded due to the early trek; guests are advised to bring snacks.
  • Afternoon – Check‑out & Continue Journey: Pack belongings and depart for onward destinations, concluding the tour.
